Sustainability

Our Commitment to Sustainability

The fashion industry is one of the most polluting industries in the world, and at HYPEPEACE, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact. From the materials we use, the amount we produce, to the partners we work with, every decision we make is guided by our dedication to sustainability and ethical practices.

The Global Textile Waste Crisis (2024)

The statistics are staggering:

  • 100 billion garments are produced each year.

  • 92 million tons of clothing end up in landfills annually.

  • Only 20% of textiles are collected for reuse or recycling globally.

  • Just 1% are recycled into new garments.

These numbers highlight the urgent need for change, and we are committed to being part of the solution.

Sustainable and Ethical Production

Thoughtful Production Practices: We prioritise quality and sustainability at every stage of production. This includes:

  • Eco-Friendly Materials: We source certified Fair Trade, 100% GOTS certified organic cotton and recycled materials, and EcoTex fabrics to ensure our clothing is both ethical and environmentally friendly.

  • Responsible Printing: We carefully select printing materials such as water based inks and PU (polyurethane eco-friendly) vinyls that minimise harm to the environment.

  • Local Manufacturing: Most of our new items are produced in-house, in our small apartment studio and our parents’ garage, powered by solar panels. This allows us to maintain control over our production process and reduce our carbon footprint and waste.

Our Manufacturing Partners

We have partnered with ethical manufacturers and clothing producers, including:

  • Printing Partners: T-Print, Pas Print, Friendly Factories.

  • Clothing Producers: Continental Clothing, Stanley Stella.

Upcycling Initiative

To further reduce waste, we have recently introduced an upcycling initiative. By printing or embroidering our designs on second-hand clothing, we lessen the demand for new raw materials and save garments from ending up in landfills. Currently, 10% of our products are upcycled, and our goal is to increase this to 80% in the near future.

Our Promise

While we are far from perfect, we are dedicated to continuously improving our environmental impact. Through thoughtful production practices, upcycling, and partnerships with ethical manufacturers, we aim to create clothing that not only looks good but also does good socially and environmentally. Together, we can build a more sustainable future.
